SINGLE-SHANK DESIGN

The three-rank, single-shank design delivers both seed and fertiliser in one shank. This has significant advantages over designs which use separate shanks for seed and fertiliser, including improved residue flow, decreased risk of plugging and dragging, better performance in heavier, tougher residue and a better field finish. The single-shank has adjustable breakout from 265 lb (120 kg) to 550 lb (250 kg) to suit variable field conditions. The press wheel pressure can be varied in relation to breakout, providing the optimum in seed to soil contact.

TYNE BREAKOUT

To match conditions, the tyne breakout is adjustable, with a force ranging from 275 lb to 550 lb (125 to 250 kg). The packing force is adjustable from 135 lb to 215 lb (60 kg to 100 kg) dependent on the tyne breakout. For growers sowing in undulating terrain, the PD 5700’s parallel link row unit ensures the opener maintains the same depth, while preserving the angle at which the double-shoot opener engages the ground. The adjustable hydraulic trip force ensures maximum precision in all terrains.
